On this 11-night holiday, we will visit ancient palaces and monuments, proud fortresses, mosques and bustling cities. Take a rickshaw ride in Old Delhi’s bustling streets, and awaken your senses on a kaleidoscope of colour and sound in its buzzing markets. On an excursion to Agra, we will gaze in wonder at the most famous monument to love, the Taj Mahal. We’ll also visit the Amber Fort in the Pink City of Jaipur and, of course, have plenty of leisure time to discover the highlights of India at your own pace. Combining beautiful architecture, delicious food, friendly people and captivating culture, India’s Golden Triangle really does have it all. For tours departing 29th October 2024, we can enjoy Diwali, the festival of Lights which is celebrated every year by Hindus, Sikhs, Jains to mark the victory of light over darkness or good triumphing over evil.

- In order to preserve the beauty and integrity of the iconic monument, the Taj Mahal, cleaning and restoration work is ongoing at this site. Some phases of the restoration involve scaffolding and mud treatment, thus a clear view of the entire monument may not be possible.

Delhi & New Delhi
Half Day Tour of New Delhi
Upon arrival in Delhi, you will be met by our local representative in the airport before being transferred to your hotel. Begin your first day in India with a half day tour of New Delhi. See the Qutb Minar, the world's tallest brick minaret, before visiting the fascinating Humayun's Tomb, a beautiful 16th century building and the tomb of the Emperor Humayun.
Free Time at Leisure
Enjoy an afternoon at leisure to explore further or relax in your hotel. Evening meals are included every night during your stay. Eight nights in your hotel and one night cooking demonstration in Jaipur with dinner included.
Old Delhi
Guided Tour of Old Delhi
After breakfast you will see all the sights and sounds of bustling Old Delhi, beginning with a cycle rickshaw ride through the city. After your ride, you will visit Raj Ghat, the memorial site of Mahatma Gandhi, where you can see an eternal flame burning at the spot of his cremation. Next you will visit the Jama Masjid Mosque (from the outside) and visit the Bangla Sikh Temple (2024 we visit the Bangla Sikh Temple). There will be time to pick up some souvenirs and local bargains at the bustling and colourful market of Chandni Chowk before transferring to the desert city of Jaipur. The transfer to Jaipur will take around six and a half hours (270km) with a few comfort stops along the way.

In the evening you will transfer by coach to the Pink City of Jaipur.
Amber Fort & Village
Visit Amber Fort & Village
Today’s full-day guided tour of the ‘Pink City’ takes in the spectacular Amber Fort perched on a hill overlooking the Maota Lake. The terraces and ramparts of the Fort are reflected beautifully in the lake below, displaying a marvellous example of Rajput architecture. Enjoy lunch and meet local people as you take a walking tour of the village.
Jaipur
Tour of Jaipur
Enjoy a morning visit to the City Palace Museum to see the beautiful former seat of the Maharaja of Jaipur. See the awe-inspiring Jantar Mantar sundial, and finally Hawa Mahal, also known as the ‘Palace of Winds.’ In the afternoon there will be some time at leisure.
Experience Indian Cuisine
In the evening, you will be taken to a local family for a cookery demonstration. Here you will learn the art of making local Indian dishes, bread making and afterwards enjoy a dinner with your group.
Dolphur & Fatehpur Sikri
Discover Dolphur & Fatehpur Sikri
Today you will travel to Dolphur including a visit to the deserted red sandstone city of Fatehpur Sikri en-route, the journey will take approximately seven hours (270km). The deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri was built by Emperor Akbar in 1569, in honour of the great Saint Sheikh Salim Chisti who blessed Akbar and prophesied the birth of three sons.

Travel on to your hotel in Dholpur, where you will spend the next two nights, your evening is at leisure.
Gwalior Fort & Gujari Mahal Museum
Excursion to Gwalior Fort & Gujari Mahal Museum
After breakfast you will enjoy a half-day guided excursion to Gwalior Fort, a place that was once regarded as north and central India's most impregnable fortress. Afterwards you will move on to Gujari Mahal Museum. Once a palace for a fussy princess, the Gujari Mahal Museum was built by Raja Man Singh for his wife Mrignayani after she demanded a separate palace for herself!

Muchkund Temple & Taj Mahal
Trip to Muchkund Temple
This morning you will visit the Gharial Conservation Alliance, a hatchery for reptiles like gharials, crocodiles and turtles before taking a trip to the Muchkund Temple, a pilgrim stronghold for Hindus.
See The Taj Mahal
In the evening you will travel to the city of Agra for your evening visit to the Taj Mahal where you will enjoy sunset at one of the world's biggest monuments to love. The evening is the best time to photograph this spectacular building when the lighting is at its most dramatic. This famous mausoleum, built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favourite wife is a highlight for many visitors to India and it is easy to see why.
Agra
Guided Tour of Agra
This morning enjoy a guided tour of the Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the finest Mughal forts in India. Built in the 11th century, era marked by invasions and battles, this red stone-fortified castle was the site of the India Rebellion of 1857.
Delhi
Transfer to Delhi
You will have a guided coach transfer to your hotel in Delhi for your final night in India.
